If the idea of a taco meal sounds delicious, but time consuming and messy, a crock pot taco soup may be just what you need.  My family loves tacos.  The flavor combinations and the spicy hot sauce is something we all love.  We don’t often have time to put together tacos for dinnertime, so we really became fans of this Taco Soup as a way to enjoy the flavor without all the work.

My favorite crock pot recipes are the ones that recreate favorite recipes in new, inventive ways.  By combining all the ingredients of a taco – beef, onion, tomato, beans, and hot sauce – in a soup, you can have a warm, filling meal that really pleases all your taco fans with about half the work.  I’ve even topped the soup in the bowls with a little shredded lettuce, cheese, sour cream, and crumbled tortilla chips to mimic tacos right down to the details.  It’s a lot of fun watching your family try to figure out what you’ve created this time… and then having them request that you make it again very soon.
